Steel Skin Remembers one of its own...

Steel Skin is currently accepting donations towards a memorial plaque in honor of Andrew Chris. The plaque is 16" by 8" and will be displayed on the Mt. Soledad Memorial Wall.

" History of Mt. Soledad and the War Memorial
Mt. Soledad is an important part of San Diego's history. Mountaintop transmitters on the site were part of the military's early-warning defense system. The Lindbergh's used it as a jump-off point for glider flights. It has long been used for navigational purposes, and it is the site of the Veterans War Memorial. The American Legion Post #275 of La Jolla founded the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association (MSMA) in 1952 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) California Corporation while the Korean War was in progress. The organization has consistently had veterans of the wars on its board since its inception. The MSMA purchased the land at the top of Mt. Soledad in 1999 and in 2000 constructed the Memorial Walls as a lasting tribute to war veterans. "
