I'm not a business, can I get my jewelry directly from you?

No. I'm afraid not. Steelskin body jewelry can only be purchased through your local reputable piercing jewelry outlet. If your piercer doesn't offer Steelskin jewelry, demand it.

Yes. No retail. You must get your Steelskin jewelry through a licensed Steelskin jewelry distributor.

Is your jewelry safe?

At Steel Skin, we pride ourselves on offering the highest quality jewelry. All of our jewelry is manufactured to the highest precision using only implant grade metals and dental acrylics. In addition, many of our pieces use our patented designs to prevent detachment and "spinning."

What does internally threaded mean?
|
|
|
|
|
All of our jewelry is internally threaded. That is, with a male ball that screws into a female shaft. We feel that internally threaded jewelry is safer for the body and facilitates healing faster than externally threaded jewelry.

What does gauge mean?
|
|
|
|
|
The gauge of your jewelry is the thickness. The smaller the gauge number (ie. 0 gauge), the thicker the jewelry. Use our conversion chart to covert the gauge to inches.

How do I know what gauge or size to order?
|
|
|
|
|
Because there is no universal sizing for body jewelry and because we cannot accept returned jewelry, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND checking with your local piercer to determine the appropriate gauge and length for your jewelry. If, for some reason, this is not possible, you may refer to our conversion chart to determine the size of your jewelry. Please note, however, that we are not able to accept returned jewelry and it is your responsibility to ensure that the correct size is ordered.

What if I can't find what I'm looking for?

Email us. Some custom jewelry can be made to order, depending on our material and machining capabilities. All custom orders require pre-payment and approximately two to four weeks to complete. Contact us for further information.

Can I get a wholesale catalog sent to my shop?
|
|

Of course! Call us at 1-800-622-0450 with your resale number and we will be happy to get a wholesale catalog right out to you!

A resale number? What is that? How can I get a business license?
|
|
|
|
|
A resale number is verification that the purchased jewelry will be resold and the appropriate taxes will be collected from the end buyer. It allows us to sell our jewelry at wholesale prices without collecting tax. However, some states do not require resale numbers. In these instances, a valid business license is required to obtain our wholesale catalog.
Each city and state has its own requirements for issuing resale numbers and business licenses. To find out the requirements for your area, visit your local city hall.
